of Homeless Animals of Ethiopia and the wildlife in order to decide how
they can help in the future by doing so we managed to contact the
concerned government higher officials and get supportive letters and
good ideas for the successfulness of their visit.
Ø
Mrs. Katrina Morrison and Dave Price Two Australian citizen supporters
who visited our project last year also came for the second time in this
quarter and served a three days voluntary service with the usual
volunteer clinical year students of Addis Ababa University and
also contributed their usual donation both in kind and in cash to
support the activity of the project.
Problems
There are problems
of animals all over the world though the degree differs from one part of
the world to the other, from developed nations to developing nations,
deliberately or due to lack of awareness, and our society believes that
those animals in a sever problem should be given priority to get them out
of the problem as it has great importance in all aspects.
That is why the
society’s founders and the project staffs works day and night to capture
dogs for spay neuter and handle emergency cases with out any hesitation
and with no insurance for the risk that might happen on their life.
Even if our effort
made animal welfare to be accepted in our country and practically seen and
believed nationally and internationally, the society could not get the
necessary support it should get for the successfulness of its dream and
for ACFA project which the society get in to an obligation by signing
operational agreement with the government due to the sabotage done by few
people happened in the Bale Mountains because of the argument between our
society HAPS and themselves due to their proposal of dog shooting by
the name of saving the Endangered Ethiopian Wolf, which finally
never saved the Wolf.
In addition even for
the society to work with the capacity it has currently, shortage of
necessary drugs and rabies vaccine in the local market became an obstacle.
Conclusion
Our unbelievable
effort, by withstanding all burdens posed on the founders and members
devotedly worked very hard to bring a better situation for the animals of
our country, we could not even manage to work the planned project
according to the time schedule due to the above mentioned problems.
Finally we would
like to thank those individuals and organizations that stood beside our
society in providing all round support for its activity for the animals
and would like to request again to be with us for the continuation of this
blessing idea to be realized for the sake of the needy animals.
