Final
destination of Cave dogs
After the rescue, our society
made these poor dogs to recover from the psychological and physical damages
in their stay in the cave by giving different treatment and shelter and made
them to be spayed and neutered in its Animal Clinic.

Then as the society is not in a
position to permanently keep this dogs in its shelter a lots of effort has
been exerted for them to be able to get a family that can take a
responsibility to keep them in a better condition than they were before.
At this time Dr. Anteneh Roba
from USA told us that the Pet Palace in Houston promised him to keep the dogs
until they got adopted to a family in USA.
Our society also accepted his
request after discussing the issue with all the concerned bodies.
Then finally, after all the
pre-conditions and preparations for taking animals abroad are finalized the
four cave dogs are transported to Houston accompanied by our society’s
founder and President Ato Efrem Legese.
The Addis Ababa Mass Media
Agency Television who recorded and transmitted the rescue process has also
given media coverage about the departure of the cave dogs from Addis Ababa to
USA by reminding the previous programs.
Finally on their arrival at
Houston airport Ato Efrem Legese and the four dogs are received by
Melanie Blake and Janice Blue people who
devoted their time and their life for animals and Dr. Anteneh Roba and people
from the
Pet Palace and also the
ABC Television
in Houston and
HOUSTON
CHRONICLE news paper.
Ato Efrem in his stay in
Houston has got different media coverage that can help promote our society
and its activity and came back to Ethiopia by accomplishing our mission
successfully.
Following this the Ethiopian
National Television, who is our usual collaborator since the establishment of
the society and who recorded and broadcasted both the rescue and the closing
of the cave by its Sunday programs in different times has also given another
wider coverage in relation to the success that Mr. Efrem came up with.
And also other government and
private news papers has also recorded all the process and promised that they
will publish it in future dates.
These opportunity and all the
media exposures has also made our effort from the beginning to get an
extraordinary attention from all over.
In this opportunity we would
like to pass our grateful thanks:-
To Janice Blue of
KPFT and Melanie Blake who works collaboratively with Dr. Anteneh by devoting
their entire life for animals and
