Final closing of the Gido Washa

/manmade Cave/

Since the finding of information about the Gido cave different steps passed starting from reporting the issue to the directly concerned Governmental authorities.    

          

Then after the dogs found in the cave are rescued by our society HAPS with financial support from Dr. Anteneh T.Roba from USA and Maria Daines who is the most popular person around the world.

The process to close the cave permanently continued by dealing with the concerned bodies and became successful as the government has fully supported with an official letter to close the cave and finally the cave is closed.

    

The Ethiopian Radio and Television our usual collaborator who has recorded and broadcasted the rescue process  two weeks ago in its Sunday entertainment program has also been there during the final closing construction of this hell to the poor dogs and is broadcasted in today’s Sunday entrainment program with the song that Maria Daines sings for the Ethiopian animals.

The Addis Ababa Mass Media Agency the other usual collaborator of our society HAPS has also been found in the final closing of the cave and already broadcasted the news yesterday evening Television program and in addition the same news is broadcasting today with their radio programs repeatedly and also they are going to publish the same news in their news paper in the coming few days.

The news included about the rescue, the closing of the cave and the song that Maria sings for the animals and also the conference call made by Janice Blue, Go Vegan Texas, KPFT FM, with Dr. Anteneh Roba from USA, Hana Kifle from HAPS (Homeless Animals Protection Society) and Maria Daines.

These Medias helped us a lot in educating the community about animal welfare apart from transmitting this specific news.  

In general in this year our society HAPS passed a message about animal welfare for the majority of the population of our country using more than 20 public medias including News paper, TV ,Radio and different Magazines and also using car advertisement and through telephone call and direct personal contact in addition to distributing leaflets, broachers, Stickers, T-shirts and caps.

Finally we would like to pass our deepest gratitude to all animal lover individuals and organizations that supported us in all aspects to reach this historical success of rescuing animals form such a terrible condition.

We also would like to forward our special thanks to:-

  1. Bethlehem kiros the reporter of My Fashion magazine for alerting us about this horrible cave and writing a full page article to inform the readers by including our view.

  2. Ethiopian National Television transmit the message on its Sunday entertainment program, which is the most watched program for making people all over to watch it and get concerned about it.
     
  3. Maria Daines, the most popular person around the world, for her kindest concern spending her precious time to help this specific rescue campaign and secure the existence of our society for the animals.
     
  4. City mayor office for their kind understanding and full support for the issue to be given attention.
     
  5. Nifas Silk-Lafto Sub City Administration Office for their kindest understanding and full collaboration in deciding the cave to be no more hell for the poor dogs.
     

  6. Kim Bartlett, President of ANIMAL PEOPLE USA the originator of our society main and regular supporter and also Merritt Clifton, editor of the worldwide famous Animal People news paper.
