Addis Community for
Animals/ACFA/
Objective: To control the
population of homeless dogs scientifically through the Trap Neuter
Release method and prevent disease through vaccination
in order to protect the
community and the animals from the deadly disease
rabies.

Type of Beneficiaries:
Over all, homeless dogs are direct
beneficiaries from the spay neuter and vaccination campaign which is
based on humane methods of dog population and disease control.
Emergency medical services in our clinic incase of severe injury and
adoptions by families after treatment are also equally important
benefits accruing to the animals. In addition, the local community in
the project area is also the direct beneficiary from the clean and
healthier environment which is free from rabies.
On the other hand, people of
Addis Ababa outside the project area are also benefited from the multi
education campaign; they are provided with information concerning pet
care and its importance with different media and also direct contact
with the volunteers and from the educational advertisement fixed on the
Society’s car.
Number of Beneficiaries: 600 dogs from the spay neuter program, 100 dogs
from emergency medical care and 100 puppies from the adoption
program.400 school children and 100,000 adult people from the
educational campaign. Around 792 pet owners from the on line counseling
services.
